My previous blog post was a little introduction on why you should use Lynda.com. Within that post I mentioned that one of the key factors to why Lynda.com is so useful, is the fact that the website provides you with a Certificate of Completion for finishing a course. These certificates can help improve your repertoire and provides you with a gateway to show off your skills on your LinkedIn profile. These certificates can then be viewed by recruiters and will allow you to stand out when compared to other competition. This blog post will give a further insight of the benefits of the certificates of completion and further information about it.

Lynda.com Certificates of Completion are certifications you earn for the courses you have completely watched on Lynda.com. Upon completion of a course, a certificate is automatically generated that can be viewed online and shared. The Lynda.com Certificates of Completion program is not the same as a degree program or a software certification program. Lynda.com Certificates are not endorsed or recognized by third parties. For example, training programs that software and hardware companies have for their own software are not the same as the Lynda.com program. Completing a course does not mean that the member is then certified in that respective software, it only reflects that they completed the course on Lynda.com. However, it is important to know that these Certificates of Completion can potentially increase your likelihood of getting a callback, an interview, or potentially a job.

Another benefit of the Certificate of Completion is that there is a unique Credential ID which can be used to show anyone viewing that you have gained a legitimate Certificate of Completion. In fact, Lynda.com actually urges members to include links to their Certificates of Completion page on their resume or applications so that employers and others can verify them on the website.

The best part about the Certificates of Completion is that no subscription plan is required to earn certificates. Any active account type that requires you to log in with a user name and password to Lynda.com will include complimentary access to Certificates of Completion. This includes Monthly, Annual, Premium, and Corporate Multi-User accounts. There is no additional charge for earning Certificates, as this is a feature included in all of the subscriptions. Lynda.com can be used as an advantage for anyone, it is time to start using it as yours.

Lynda.com offers on-demand courses to help individuals prepare for professional certification exams and earn continuing education units (CEUs). These are based on partnerships with associations like the Project Management Institute. You will find a list of all the companies and associations that LinkedIn is currently partnering with to provide preparation courses and CEUs here: https://learning.linkedin.com/certification-and-continuing-education-programs. Using the same link above you will find a list of case studies for just some of the companies that are leveraging Lynda.com to develop their learning culture, to train their employees and managers as well as enable employees and managers to keep their skills updated as a result of the ever-changing landscape of technology. More companies are putting more time and resources into their learning culture and as such, having the experience of learning with LinkedIn will not only set you apart as an applicant it will enable you to be prepared as a lifelong learner.
